Here’s what the judges said in this first round of Jessica’s performance:

“You’re so grown-up there, it’s crazy!” says Jennifer. “You were a little bit of Tina, a little Beyonce.”

“The only thing that gives experience a run for its money is a 16-year-old,” says Steven. “I’m hearing the blues come out of you.”

“This performance was okay for me, barely okay,” Randy says. “You took on probably the biggest dragon of the night. … It didn’t really quite sit with me.”

“You can’t compare a 16-year-old with Tina Turner performing Proud Mary in her heyday,” responds Jennifer.
